Every circuit needs a power supply, but benchtop power supplies are bulky and are often overkill for simple projects where cost or portability are a priority. The PowerBRICK family provides a low cost solution that can be powered by the USB port on any computer, ideal for class where each student needs their own supply for a lab or project. Smaller than a USB stick, the PowerBRICKs can be tucked away in a backpack or toolkit and used wherever a simple power supply is necessary, removing power supplies as a barrier to remote learning.
The PowerBRICKS come in the four most commonly used voltages: 12V, 9V, 5V, or 3.3V and provide both a positive and negative voltage. They designed to plug directly onto a breadboard for simple, low profile integration. Powered by 5V from a standard USB or the Vin pin, each PowerBRICK can provide up to 1.1W of power. PowerBRICKS can also be daisy-chained to provide more than one +/- Vout pair, but total power output for the entire chain should not exceed 2.2W.
